nice collection so far
I ordered the supposed pair of weymouths from Barneyswarehouse that was one sale for $369, it was the westbournes instead. I'll be returning them. Its got the sticker and barcode saying weymouths on the sole, therefor it might be proccessed as the weymouth again, just letting you guys know.
Can anyone comment on fit difference between c&j 240 last (for peal) and AE #5 last? Length, width and instep?

AE's 5 last is narrower and longer. I wear 9D in AE's 5 last and 9.5D in the Peal (US sizing).
Not to throw more confusion into this, but in the same stated US size, I find the Peal 240 to be roomier than AE 5. Disclaimer should be noted: I'm comparing AE calf shoes to the Peal cordovan boot.
Another note: I personally do not put much faith into the last numbers (and widths) that C&J puts into Peal shoes. I have both a C&J Westfield (341) in E width and it is the same length as the Peal burgundy captoe (also purported to be on the 341) half-size up in US width. However, the Peal in both D and E widths (US) are tighter than the UK 341 in E. On top of that, comparing the two pairs of shoes, you'd guess they were on different lasts despite the fact that they both have 341 written in them.
I agree that the Peal 240 has more volume in the toe box, and is, to that extent, roomier. I've had calf and shell in each last.
To your second point, I have owned 2 similarly designed and lasted calf monks - one C&J stock model in UK8.5e and one C&J for BB (Peal) in US9.5d. The Peal version, as measured on the outsole, was easily 1/2 inch longer.
It is definitely wider. I am a D width in the AE 5 and a C width in the Peal 240. I have not noticed a difference in length.Am I right in saying the peal 240 is shorter and wider than the ae 5 when comparing the exact same marked US size?
