Not much of a difference to be seen in the photos (crappy iPhone pictures), but they look a bit nicer now. At this rate, these boots will last me 20 years, the soles look pristine.

without a doubt my favourite C&J model.

DpprDr, nice one, how they look with jeans? I thought you said Balmoral don't mix well with those Red Wings in your part of MI? wink.gif j/k of course.

Anyone know how Barney's does the C&J sizing conversion. I have a pair of unlined loafers I got from them in the 348 last (Granda)  US Size 9, so would that be 8 or 8.5 UK?

I tried the Tetbury in US 9 and they fit quite well, but I'm concerned that the nubuck will not work well in the rain/snow. So instead I'm looking at the Loake Pimlico now, but not sure what size to get.

Did you even look on the website?

Good point, I should have checked their site.

Any other alternatives I should consider to the Tetbury due to them not handling rain well. Loake Pimlico seem to the most common one.

Pediwear's own Simon chukka looks nice too but that too is made of nubuck.

You could consider doing routine suede care or maintenance or a water proofing spray.

I'm relatively sure when it comes to 348 last, UK size + 1 = US size. I don't think the Tetbury is designed to be worn in the snow (rain should be fine with the danite sole). It does come in suede should you decide to go that route.

^ generally yes, however every retailer sizes differently. For example, Ben Silver sizes up only 1/2 sizes for the 348 last

Is this true with the Ben Silver unlined Harvard cordovan R? Interesting, I ordered it TTS and was too large.

Barney's sizes can be a bit off sometimes.  Ex:  I am TTS 7D US & wear 6.5E UK in JLP. Barneys JLP boxes are labeled in UK sizes.  If you tell the SA you want a size 7US, the SA will bring you a 6E UK.  Barneys CJ boxes are labeled in US sizes.  I got a size 7D Islay from barneys, and I wear 6.5E in CJs.  I never try a 6.5E Islay before, so to this day I am not 100% sure if my Islay is 6E or 6.5E UK...

@ chipshot yeah you should contact them - they are pretty good at responding to emails. i dont know if they only size up 1/2 with 348 or all their shoes

I'm new to C&J and just yesterday received my first C&J's, the dark brown cordovan Harlechs that I bought at the #92 Jermyn St shop a couple of weeks ago.  I posted earlier about the amazing customer service my wife and I received at that shop but I do want to reiterate that point. I don't understand the negative comments I had read way back in this thread. Our experience was nothing but exemplary.  They shipped the boots (along with a couple of pairs that my wife bought) on the date I requested and they arrived via ParcelForce and USPS yesterday.  A warm personal note was enclosed from our sales associate, William Powell.  Very nice touch.  Another shout out to him; he was amazing.  He was not only very knowledgeale, but he was so balanced in his recommendations --- strong and clear in his recommendations but ready to defer to the client's wishes if needed.

Here are the Harlechs.  They had some creasing from prior try-ons but I am not that picky on that issue and they were minor IMO.  I don't think I say this for every new boot I try on but I do think these are the most comfortable boots I own so far.  The 341 last was made for me.

Now that I know how well these boots work for me, only increases my anticipation to receive the mto whiskey Harlechs that should arrive in a few months.  I'm glad (but maybe our budget isn't) that my wife bought shoes & boots as well as she spent more than I did and lessens my guilt over what I spend on footwear.

  Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Thanks, NAMOR.  Your boots look great!  So are those the exact same boots as stock Harlechs in brown shell except on the 240?  Just from the looks of the vamp/toe, the shape seems quite similar to the 341.  What is that last like compared to the 341?  How do you like that last?

Another thing on the Harlechs I just received.  I kinda wish the tongues weren't lined as I see the Horween shell cordovan stamp peeking out on the edges of the left boot's tongue.  Would have been awesome to see that stamp every time I was putting on or taking the boots on/off.
