Hi Othertravel, Same quality. We have two quality levels at the moment, Main Line and Hand Grade. J.Crew have a few styles from the Main Line.

Hi Jim Profit, Indeed it is. Originally crafted from the 337. Although shoe trees are made for a more generic fitting to enable use across different last shapes.

(Long time lurker on SF - this is my first post so please go easy on me.)

I know this is not a BB thread but I am looking for answers in terms of fit for these pair of BB (Peal & Co) cordovan boots which I assume are actually made by C&J.

I'm interested in getting them but the BB store only has these Peal & Co Perforated Captoes in 10.5D and they seem to be slightly loose fit with thin socks. I intend to wear the boots in winter with slightly thicker socks. Do these captoes shoes share the same or similar last as these boots? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

FYI I wear 10.5E in AE 5 last.

Could someone post some pictures of your unlined Harvard 314. Any leather will do. Trying to get an idea of how the single soled loafer looks and wears. I own a couple pair of Marlow Pennies and Tassels Double Soled. They are bricks and am looking for more of an LHS BB Unlined shoe for very hot weather.

^^ Unless someone beats me to it I will post  a couple of pics. One of my favourite and most comfortable pairs, unlined is the way to go. A no brainer addition to any wardrobe.

Edit for pix:

Cheap Handgrades: Was anyone else aware of this?

Peter Johntston sells their handgrades for up to £50 cheaper than other retailers.

Example: the Lonsdale is £30 cheaper at PJ than pediwear, and £50 cheaper than Bodileys.

They also deduct VAT and offer similar shipping prices.

Another example: the Weymouth is £30 cheaper at PJ than pediwear, and £50 cheaper than Bodileys.

That translates to $47 to $77 in savings.

It's a great shoe, does not run as long as other lasts.

If you want to know how it fits, it is pretty TTS.   Try one if you have a chance, before you buy.

The best retailer to buy from (mail order) is the C&J outlet @ 92 Jermyn Street in London, UK.

Mail order means ordering from a catalog, right (sorry if this question seems stupid, I've only ordered online biggrin.gif)?  How do you get the catalog?  Do they have an email address?

Do they do mail orders? I was not aware they ship shoes out to the US (their outlet stores, that is).

Can't do mail order from the outlet

When you say outlet, do you mean their flagship, or the store where they sell seconds? If it's the former then you can order from them (didn't somebody link a catalogue a few posts back?)
