I do find my C&J shoes to be dangerous on marble flooring. The hospitals I work in are waxed REGULARLY and I am guaranteed to slip with my C&J; less slippage occurs with my other shoes (EG, AS, G&G, etc.). In my situation, my guess is the nails used in the heels are the culprit though.

Hint: walk slower indoors...

Well, it sounds like you and I have similar experiences walking on marble floors in C&Js then. I don't have this problem with the other makers I own (AE and Alden).

Any idea which last C&J built this shoe on for brooks brothers?

They're made to benchgrade standards but with channeled soles (so somewhere in-between bench and handgrade?).

The total price comes out considerably cheaper than BB C&J ($450 compared to $650).

Thanks to Stephen at Malford of London for info on the quality of the shoes.

I love big punching.

Maybe because C&J are slick shoes? lol8[1].gif

Hello smile.gif quick question... Should Crockett & Jones shoes come with booklet blurb in the box?

It's just that when I bought a pair recently from C&J (instore), it was only the shoes & shoe bags in the box. But my Cheaney & Loake1880 shoes came with a booklet as well. I know it's not really important but it seems a nice touch as part of the packaging.

I've seen RL C&J shoes come with a booklet, but haven't handled actual C&J

Give me a well crafted pair of shoes that fits and I won't care if they come in a paper bag with an old Chinese restaurant menu.

Can anybody here compare the fit of an Unlined Cordovan Harvard Penny to BB Unlined Cordovan Penny same size? Also, Ben Silvers pricing seems very aggressive, anbody else in the US carry the Unlined Harvards? Thanks.. On the fence with these ..

Have not received booklets for either RL for C&J (bought online) or C&J (bought instore at Burlington Arcade in London).

Aggressive indeed. They carry the Coniston for $680. I got the same boot for just under $500 from Robert Old.

I have the same experience. At the moment I have the Marlow wingtips and they are downright treacherous, and I got rid of a pair of Whitehalls after I slipped on marble stairs and dislodged my kneecap...

FWIW, I had topy put on my Lindricks and Marlow wingtips for that reason.

No regrets whatsoever.

I have the CARMINA UETAM in size UK 8.5 and that fits perfect. What size do I need in C&J Last 337?
