^Nice collection. Now go and put some decent wear on them and make them beautiful!

Got the Islay laces from this old-school site. Pretty decent selection of colours, at least for my purposes...

Working on it.

You can't tell it from this picture but the Islays went on their maiden voyage Saturday.

I would love to see a pair of these in Oxblood, sorry own a pair of these in Oxblood, some times I hate living in Sydney ( sometimes ) one can not just go to the city and try on a pair of C&J shoe or boot in ones prefered model, and buying online is a risky game to play.

You just have to take the good with the bad. At least there is a way to get them. Besides there are much more options for most people typically when you shop online.

I guess I've been rather fortunate, I've only had to return one pair so far. But this occured when I was unable to figure out my size and I ordered two pair. I knew in advance I would be sending one back.

I really like the product and I'm not special ordering anything of of the ordinary, same last etc. The weymouth is the same shoe minus the brogue for $780.00 USD. I really had my heart set on a handgrade Alex.

Essentially you are asking for a single pair special order because a Hand Grade Alex does not exist. I cannot go into full details as I would be writing an essay on manufacturing efficiency and techniques. In short, special orders are sent around the factory separately to bulk orders which is not conducive to streamlined manufacturing and the most expensive way to produce a shoe.

Thanks,

Hi mate,
I have 4 pairs of c&j shells. 1 pairs of Bradford and 3 pairs Rl Marlows. I have noticed they gets lighter with age and develop light spots on different places on different shoes(not uniform). They are like raw denim. Like buying 2 pairs of shoes at once.......gets lighter and you don't really know how it will look after a while. And I like the dark look as much as I like the lighter look. Don't get me wrong I love them all but just wondering if there any thing that I am missing. I have few other shell by other makers who uses a finish on their shell and they don't seem to have this issue.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Great comparison shot.

The old one doesn't look too bad.

It is amazing how much lighter it is though.

What are the differences between the 341 and 337 last in terms of toe box width / overall length / heel width

If anyone has pictures of them side by side, it would be extremely helpful

Thanks

Is that because the 337 is wider?  My Belgraves on the 337 last are about as narrow as I can go, so, if true, sounds like the 341 last is not in my future.
