After posting to get sizing advice for the Islay I left confident that I would need to get myself a pair in 9E. I'm now wondering if the same would go for the Skye. I still have not recieved the Islay from a pre order I placed, so I do not have that last to compare to. I do know my sizing in a couple Alden lasts. I wear a US 9.5 D in both the Trubalance and Barrie lasts. US 10 in Chuck Taylors. As always, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I wear a 11 in the Alden Barrie, but a 11 1/2 in the Islay. The last used on the Islay is a bit narrower and just a bit shorter than the Barrie. So it really just depends on your feet.

It does help. Are the 335 and 365 lasts fairly comparable in both width and length then?

My Barrie lasted shoes were just a tiny bit tight in the right foot's outer toe box area when I first started to wear them. but they stretched out after a couple wears and I haven't noticed any tightness since my first week of owning them. When you went a half US size up on the Islay was there a little bit more room in the boot than in your half size smaller Barrie?

I just want to be fairly confident when I order, because if I have them resole with Dainite before shipping to the US I'm sure I will not be able to return them. Thanks again guys!

I would say that the 11.5 Islays are just a bit longer by a smidge and about the same width as my alden barrie 11's.

11.5 UK vs the Barrie's 11 US? Are you doing -1/2 from TTS for the Barrie and +1 from TTS for the Islays?

Thanks lads. Has anyone had any luck asking them to make a pair out of reddish burgundy or do you reckon they are pretty set on what they have? (provided I pay for the custom)

I have a question about this pair of Lowndes on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251220034483

Are these really a size 11? I imagine these would be labeled with an "E" if that was UK sizing, right? It makes me think these might be in American sizing since this was from Barneys? idk. I don't want to buy the wrong size. smile.gif
