Old, embarrassing men oftentimes inspire young men to do things. Fantastic coat he's wearing, with a silly small-knotted tie....

Perhaps they need to send Beckham.

For those of you with experience with both the C&J 337 last and EG, Vass, or G&G lasts, which lasts from those makers have the soft square and not super narrow toe of the 337? I'd like to know in case I ever want to expand beyond C&J. Thanks.

For EG, look into 808

Still may too "hard" though

I've got the same question but for C&J's 325 last and Edward Green.

I believe GG MH71 is a soft square.

AS 48 an option?

Sweet. I'll keep that thread on my radar and keep my eyes peeled for the family album. I'm sure you're right about the Skyes, they may be my go to boot because of the chesnut's versatility.

Size question for help:

I just saw the sale on Edwards Of Manchester news, catch my mind on the price cut. I haven't an English shoes yet, so I'm wondering which size I should choose.

I wear Allen Edmonds Park Avenue In US 7D, and 7E will be a little little wide.

After reading couples of posts in this thread, I guess I maybe go for a UK 6 by last 348, or UK 6.5 by last 377, correct?

Any advice will be appreciated, thx.

Anyone a UK size 12E?

I have a pair of C&J Newquay shoes listed on Ebay, ending tomorrow at 7:30PM Pacific.

FWIW I wear UK = US -1 for all my C&J lasts. And I also assume you mean 337 (not 377) right?

337 and 348 I go down to a 9.5 E, all other C&J I wear 10E, YMMV.

Do you have a wide foot at all? I've got my Coniston and Snowdon size dialed in, but I'm concerned about pulling the trigger on the Northcote or Tetbury without trying them on.

Something a little different from C&J, the 'Argyll' American brogue made for Fife (presumably, as in 'Hoggs of Fife', the Scottish country-wear specialists) a while ago.

I wasn't totally sure on the maker of these until I took them into the local C&J shop and they had a sample model of these out the back (they recognised the shoe straight away), which they'd had sent to them some time ago for the benefit of a customer who was considering a longwing MTO.

The 325 (Coniston) and 228/265 (Snowdon) are pretty much in a different category because they are more country last vis a vis a smart shoe last like the 348 (Northcote & Tetbury), which will probably fit tighter and more elongated than country lasts in the same size.

325 and 337 are really comfortable for me but the 348 is way too long and too tight
