Big thanks to everyone that posted up comparison sizes:)
Based on what I've read, I think I will be going with with UK 9E for the Islay then. I'm really excited about my first Crockett & Jones purchase. I would have loved to make it into a retailer that carried C&J and really make sure I got the perfect size, but living in Alaska make that impossible. I was actually wearing the wring size Alden Indy for a year before making it to Leather Soul in Hawaii on my honeymoon.
Thanks for the help!

I contacted C&J today since I wanted the exact same model and size, and was informed that the Islays have been completely sold out due to the featuring in the Bond movie :(

However, if you do find a place they're available, please let me know :D

Cheers,

SKM

The retailer I was thinking I would be able to purchase from originally didn't work out. The site said it was available for immediate delivery in my size, but proved untrue when I went to put the item into my cart. This site was shoesnorthhampton.co.uk. They may have your size though.
Since everyone appears to be sold out in my size, I've decided to take advantage of a pre-order that christopherforbesshoes.com is offering. They require a 50% deposit up front and are estimating a mid february delivery date. Their customer service rep that responded to my emails, Alastair, has been very helpful.
Hope you find your size!

Are there additional duty discounts when purchasing from Malaysia: Plal ( similar to the NOVAT in the UK)? Interested in some of what they have left.

Yeah, I contacted both Forbes, shoesofnorthhampton.com and Pediwear, but they have alle sold out (I'm using 9E as well) - the demand for Bond accessories is apparently bottomless...

^Have you tried asking C&J themselves? Even if they're out, you can bet your last quid that the first Islays off the production line will be headed their way...

I believe you would still be able to get on the pre-order at Christopher Forbes, I'd shoot them an email to their customer service. Also, I found out Crockett & Jones will do preorders, I think you have to put the full amount up front, but I think since it's through the actual company that would garauntee delivery. I messaged with a store rep from the Burlington Arcade location, Yukiko was her name, and she said it would be best to pay now to insure you get a pair. I had already paid my 50% through Forbes otherwise I would have gone this route. Hope that helps.

From http://www.customs.gov.my/index.php/en/component/content/article/96-entry-po?start=1:

Non-dutiable goods include:
Leather shoes

No tax going in so in a sense, you get back all the duty paid, i.e. none smile.gif

Re: those looking for the Islay - Barneys sells the boot. Why don't you contact SF member tacobender. He works at Barneys in AZ. I believe that he will be able to check stock in all of their stores.

Well, in that case, I guess going direct to C&J is comparable at this point when it comes to prices.

Thanks for all your suggestions! I've also been in contact with C&J (form where I got the information that it was due to the Bond-apperance that they where sold out), og sure enough they suggested me to pay the full price of a pair of boots that might be delivered in February. Out of desperation I tried to contact a German retailer (Budapester Schuhe) where I tried them before, and it turned out they had a pair in my size. Not only that, they where also on sale for 369 euro, AND they provided the shipping for free! Problem solved: I'll be receiving my new Islays by Tuesday :D

Cheers,

SKM
