That's a great pair of shoes! What last are they on?

I've found that taking photos of them in natural light outdoors results in some good photos. A little post-processing also helps.

Wow, thanks for the editing magic, that looks much better!

They're the Cliffords on the 337.

Hi All,

First post, first pair of C&Js.

Long time lurker and really happy to be introducing myself with a pair of these:

Black Lowndes double-monk in a UK 8E. Picked up from the Jermyn st. store in London a few weeks back. They had an awesome collection in store but I was limited to one pair at this stage. Hope to be posting pics of further acquisitions on this thread in the future.

700

They're getting their first outing tomorrow morning.

Natural light gets 99% of the results. Editing helps afterwords.

A simple cropping and a one click saturation enhancement can be amazingly effective.

Need to add a black balmoral oxford for my work wardrobe. I work in finance.  Any recomendations on what models I should look at?

Assuming you mean a standard black oxford rather than an oxford in the balmoral style,

Balmoral style oxford

Standard oxford (C&J Connaught):

There's also the Hallam and Westbourne.

For an Oxford I would go with either a Drummond, Westbourne, or Hallam. I don't think there are currently any balmoral oxfords in the current collection.

I was thinking about going with the Wembley on the 360 last (benchgrade) or the belgrave on the 337 last (handgrade)

What's a 'balmoral-style oxford'? A quarter-brogue?

Courtesy of Wikipedia: "the Balmoral is a particular type of Oxford where there are no seams (apart from the toe cap) descending to the welt, a style particularly common on boots"
