Take a 4h break to make a shine like that on yours, they deserve it ;)

C&J Selbourne in Chestnut calf, handgrade on last 358, size UK9.
Even though true to size, my size, now I wish I have bought them 1/2 size smaller, they look sooo long
Just polished them a bit, other than that factory finish.
Will use Saphir mahogany cream combined with Medium Havana to buid up a darker patina (I have both creams).
Photos follow; thanks for looking

I also use Saphir Mahogany on my Chestnut Belgraves and was wondering what the Havana is like. Are you using that to build the darker patina?

Thank you.

I just used Renovateur and Mahogany Pommadier cream and brushed vigurously.

Thank you.

I was surprised by the lenght of the shoe (last 358); it is a good fit but it looks soooo long...

I will downsize ½ size next time; I'm looking to buy a shoe in last 363.

What did you do for the shine on the toe caps?

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Great finish. Handgrades from C&J are usually pretty shiny right out of the box - but I don't recall seeing much variation/depth on the pairs that I have seen.

They look great!

Quick spit shine with Medaille d'Or Dark Brown/Mahogany mixed wax on the toe caps and heel counters.

Thank you.

I didn't do much more than quickly shining them a bit.

I have another pair of C&J, but the bench grade.

No matter what I do, it won't shine like the Selbourne; I think the handgrades are made with a different, better quality lather.

Took me only 2 minutes to put the shine on the caps.

I have both; nice shoes but they look and feel flimsier in construction than C&J;
