That is true for RL. I also remember that the Peals are .5. I should add that although I got the info from the Barney's SA, I did not get any shoes there. The Barney's C&Js I have are sized in US sizes which are .5 different from UK sizes.
Barney's website however lists their C&J by US sizes with a parenthetical full size difference UK translation.
So the Ghillies I just bought are marked 10.5D US but are actually 10UK and are listed on the website as 10.5D (43.5EU 9.5UK).

pretty confusing! thanks for the explanation. I wish they'd just list the UK size; it'd be so much easier that way.

Hey guys - tried on the 325 last today via RL's Marlow Plain Toe Blucher (PTB). It fits me quite nicely as it is a 9D - I originally started this thread to complain about the UK8 Hallam's not fitting me in a 348 last. Knowing my 325 measurements, how can I apply this to other C&J fits?

Thanks guys; just re-read this and it seems if I am a 8.5D in the A&E Clifton I should consider sizing down to a 7E (8D) for the 337 last on the Audley? Since I have wide feet I think 7.5E would be better. Was just wondering when you guys say there was a bit of a room sizing down 1 instead of 1.5, how much room extra are we talking about here?

Heel slip, looseness at the tongue (arc of the shoe)?

I think they would be great with jeans or khakis/chinos.

Just got these and the seller said he bought them in Sydney at the famous men's store Richards (RIP) around 1976 and never wore them and stored them away.
