I do not think they will lighten up much, IME. But Lexol does not darken much compare to other conditioners.

It's a semi-bespoke special order.  It's a short-wing, based on the Westbourne, and in a 363 last.  It's taken a while but I've come to realise the 363 is the only C&J last that fits me comfortably from the get-go.  I drew inspiration from a couple of EG and GC wing-tip brogues.  Sadly I can't wear EGs because of their high instep support and GCs are out of my price range!

Mind if I ask how much do these semi bespoke orders cost?  It looks really amazing.

X-post from Wide shoe thread -

Not super wide, but Ben Silver has several models of handgrade C&Js in US E width on clearance right now. Sizes are obviously limited:

http://www.bensilver.com/The-Westminster-in-Tobacco-Suede-in-E-width,15069.html
http://www.bensilver.com/The-Whitehall-Cap-Toe-E-width,13027.html
http://www.bensilver.com/The-Belgrave-Cap-Toe-Oxford-in-Chestnut-E-width,12378.html

Westminster and Belgrave are both US 8E, if anyone lucks out and wears that size.

Hello!

I was looking for some feedback from some users that have both the Chelsea 5 boot and the Skye boot (any variation). I tried to do a search for this but I couldn't find any comparisons between these two models. I really REALLY want to purchase the skye boot, but I don't have the opportunity to try it on before buying. However, I have tried on the Chelsea 5 boot in the same last and I'm sort of in between a size 8.5 and 8. So, I was wondering if there were any differences in fit between the two styles. From pictures, it looks as though the skye is quite a bit more narrow in general (even though same last), especially in the vamp/instep area as well as the heel/tongue. This could perhaps be the result of laced vs slip on boot or maybe I'm just crazy. Anyways, the 8.5 feels a little bit roomy for me in the chelsea - while the 8 is much better but sort of on the verge of being too tight. So, could I safely go with a 8.5 in the skye with the expectation of it being a closer fit because of 1) the perceived visual differences I see in sleekness and 2) it has laces - can adjust fit. Or, are they 100% identical and, therefore, I should go with an 8?

Thanks!
