I have a pair of Peal & Co for BB boots, Cordovan Burgundy color I like to wear them as my kick arrounds and would like to achieve a Matt finish on them if possible as they have a natural shine that lasts for ever  ( seemingly ) is there an easy way to achieve a Matt finish?

Kind of the opposite of what most folks ask about.  My first thought was use something like HDLP but I would let the shoe care fiends comment.

Obenauf's Heavy Duty Leather Preservative. I think the other poster meant for you to wear the boots often. I have C&J shell boots and all the conditioners I've used have kept the shell pretty shiny. Not like Alden's of course, but definitely not matte.

You could try a little of the HDLP (it's not very expensive) on the inside heel or something to see how it does.

so I think my shell crockett and jones shoes are too small - any advice on how to stretch them, or should I just sell/trade/give them away?

I have the lwb which fit a little snug and then bradfords which are just too small

What size are they?

I have some Bradfords in calf leather on Dainite from the factory shop which must have been a special order. One of my favourite pairs.

I have no experience of stretching shoes.  I always imagines that shell is a much tougher material to stretch.

Go to the shoe stretching thread.  Then, take them to a cobbler to stretch the width of the ball.

Thanks for that. In fact I've just picked up a pair which the seller said he had only worn once. Then I came across a brand new pair of Church's Ryder boots that I couldn't pass up :)

Both actually have 3 1/2 dainite heels.

New to forum posting but have been getting sound advice from here over the years.. so thought I'd share a recent C&J special order I made before the horrors of London pavements got to this pair!

Whiskey Harvards were dry as a bone from our desert climate. I hit these with some Lexol conditioner to add some moisture. It seemed to darken the shell some but I bet will lighten up over the next day or so.
