Haven't worn them yet but the fit should be familiar to the 363 which works well for me. They look a bit like my Arcas which I also like a lot.

They look great, I want to tone mine down a little bit. What polish did you use? I've found that they crease a fair bit, rather like the Tetbury. Cheers

Hi to all G&J fans - new to forum but long time 'lurker'.

Hope to get to know you all in time. Love my small collection of C&J's and hope I can add a little bit of interest to the thread as well.

Just been in the C&J shops in London.

Both stores have a limited sale on at the moment, but although the staff were busy, once again they came up trumps with their customer service. Lovely people that seem to share an interest with us in shoes.

Well done Crockett and Jones and their staff. Another very friendly and welcoming experience and enjoyable play with some of your shoe styles that are not available at my local stockist. Yet again you've made me poorer but I have a couple of new friends to lavish some care and attention on. :)

Not a problem. Sizing is confusing, and there is no cut and dry rules as all lasts fit differently.  A Barney's 9D from Crockett & Jones in our NYC shop, would convert roughly to 8 1/2E. Kevin will be able to talk you through fitting difference of each last number.

I never had Conistons etc but they fit firmer than any CJ 11E I ever had in fact I usually take 10.5 UK in CJ so lucky I went for 11
Anyone who knows their Conistons etc will probably be able to clarify but I never saw a CJ with size in a window a la EG?

Dear labravajazz,

Crockett & Jones manufactured the boots for the film, but not for the Mr Porter collection.

That is quite some tweak, C&J to G&G with love, care and polish. I am impressed!

Would you be kind enough to give us a step by step lesson on how you achieved this naming the products and colours you used? It would be most appreciated as I am going to try and turn this

Thanks for this information on the roughly half size conversion. My experience has been a bit different, however. I own C&J Harvards from Barneys (US8D), from Ben Silver (US8D) and from C&J direct (UK7E). The fit for all three is nearly identical.

Thank you for the kind words.
The first thing I do is probably the most important; stripping the shoes down. I use acetone and a cotton cloth for this. Once the shoes are stripped down the leather will be able to absorb the leather dye I use. If the shoes aren't stripped down properly the dye will not hold. I massage the dye into the leather with my fingers which then remain disgustingly black for several days. After dying just polish. This is also how I did my Westbournes, the ones in your bottom picture.
I'd try this on an old pair of shoes first though, for practise.

-edit-
The leather dye I use is called Teinture Francaise, from Saphir.

The new season of C&J is out now on their website.

Does anyone know what price ranges the crocodile are going for?

I believe they are £4k

Glad they finally, finally, offered a Connaught in Dark Brown. That Chestnut was a disaster.
