I'm sure it's been discussed but a quick search failed: what is the general consensus on going from the 348 last (Tetbury) to 238 (Chelsea 3)?

They are indeed C&J, to my eye.
The tan monk is identical to the Malvern, the derby brogue was a model already seen for Barneys IIRC

Found some decently priced derbies in Cavalry Calf. Did a quick search and it appears it's the type of leather to be avoided as it's corrected?

What exactly is cavalry calf? Is it really that bad?

Yes it is CG, but it is a really good calf skin.  They will not bite you.

Very nice leather and treatment.

C&J says that cavalry calf is sourced full grain, but then is treated/corrected, correct?

That is it....same for Church with Book Binder.  Good leathers and nice treatments.  They wont crack at all.

^Cavalry Calf afaik is a semi-corrected waxed matte calf,
Bookbinder is a classic corrected grain leather with a shiny plastic finish.

I also purchased the Hartwell recently and tweaked them a little from

Haven't worn them yet but the fit should be familiar to the 363 which works well for me. They look a bit like my Arcas which I also like a lot.

Definetly, I did not wanted to enter in the differences of processes they apply to their corrected grain, just comparing marketing/commercial names.

Well guys, I bought the Cavendish loafers I inquired about a while ago. I can actually say that I'm extremely happy with my purchase! :)

Wearing them below with pale green Incotex chinos and cream dotted OTC socks from Sozzi.
