I want to get the Pembroke in tan country grain from C&J. I am in the US... Ben Silver seems like the obvious choice as I am not near a C&J store/reseller, but they are out for 4-6 weeks. Any other online shops that are US based I could order from? I prefer US based as I haven't tried on the 325 last and I am assuming returns/return shipping will be easier if I keep everything state-side.

I assume you've called the C&J shop in NYC?

Anyone have the Tetbury or Northcote in waxed calf? If so, how does it do in bad weather? I'd mostly be wearing it under galoshes but NYC winters can be pretty brutal and I wouldn't always be able to have galoshes on, so I want to make sure they're fairly resilient. Thanks!

That would be the obvious question but for some reason nobody ever seems to do that.

I have the tetbury in waxed calf. I wore them the entire winter in NYC weather with no galoshes and they held up fine. They're basically my bad weather beaters.

Awesome, thank you. Do you treat the waxed leather the same as regular calf?

Northcote, waxed calf, London.

Does the job, well.

Was tempted to, bit didn't try, bulling the toe.

Can't decide whether Saphir waxy polish or Alt-berg leder-Gris http://www.altberg.co.uk/leder-gris/history-of-leder-gris/ is better.

Is this new model C&J, Loake or Cheaney?

Hard to tell:

looks like a glued-on sole, no?

price is pretty low for purple label made-in-england shoes (considering the usual RLPL markup)

Anyone have this chukka? Can anyone confirm if it is made by C&J, and, if so, the last?

Thanks.

If yes, which last is it made on, and what is the suede color? Thanks.

UPDATE: Took delivery of these. They are handgrade.

The box identifies them as:

Description
Mushroom Suede
Leather Sole

Style
Camberley
9613-2X

Still haven't had any luck pinning down the last.....

Had an emergency at a contract I have in the area, sorted that, and dropped by on the way home. I put two and two together and came up with you/4. Excellent purchases there, well played!
