It a nice shop. Bought some shoes there back when I studied law and ended up working weekends there.

I think Robert Old ends up being cheaper than the other mentioned retailers.

They've got free world wide delivery via Royal Mail so very low chances of having to pay duty/brokerage fees.
Looked like Upper Shoe wants 60eur for DHL to USA which mean high chances of having to pay another 8.5% plus fees.

Hi guys,

Is the consensus to go TTS on the 363 last? I wear 8uk in the 348 which is a touch long. I wear 8uk in most lasts in other brands.

Thanks!

That reminds me, Edwards of Manchester never had a 25% off code for their sale this winter. Or did they and I missed it? I've picked up a couple of C&Js with that code in previous years.

Soliciting advice from the pros (again). Looking for a wingtip boot. considering the C&J Skye and the Alden Wingtip on the Barrie Last. I currently have the AE Daltons which IMO are too narrow and a bit too dressy for jeans. I'm usually in casual clothing ,mostly jeans so thought the fuller and more substantial Alden would look good. I can't tell if the Skye is too slim/svelt to be worn this way- If anyone has any experience with one or both could you please help a boot brother out?

Thank in advance

Hi all, C&J newbie question. I am wanting a chunkier Chelsea than the current offerings so am wanting to get a custom made one on either the 365 or 224 last (Islay and Chiltern), can you see that working and on which? Much appreciate any responses.

They used to make a Chelsea on the 365 with a wing in oiled calf (much like Snowdon but a "beige-ish" colour). It might be worth contacting C&J directly and ask if they can send you any pictures?

the Chelsea 5 (on the 335 last) is pretty chunky (and to me looks less contoured than even the islay)

Thanks for the responses, they did send me pics but not great angles so hard tell. Coming from mostly wearing US work styled boots the 335 when tried felt like a ballet shoe, like a chunkier look with jeans etc... Thanks though. Will post if I get them made.

Gentlemen,

I am looking to pick up a Coniston soon, and I'm trying to dial-in the sizing. I wear an 8.5UK in the Islay on the 365 last. My Alden sizing is 9D in Barrie. Tricker's 8.5UK on 4497.

Thanks for the help

Sean

I wear the same size for both Islay and Coniston (12UK) and 12.D Alden Barrie.

If you start the check out on UpperShoes it says in brackets besides the delivery cost (Tax incl.). I haven't used UpperShoes before but could this mean that they have prepaid the duties on their end? Anyone have experience with UpperShoes? Trying to decide between Robert Old and UpperShoes right now.
