So much for my dabble into C&J.  Paul Stuart sent me the wrong sized Islays a month ago and since are sold out and won't order more they simply refunded me the $428 +tax.

Bummer, I really wanted these boots in my true UK12 / US13 size, which is what I ordered all along when they still had some in stock.  It was fun while it lasted, I'll stick with Santoni and when I venture to the UK makers I'll probably over look C&J now because of this debacle.

Hardly seems fair to hold all of C&J responsible for a debacle with boots that do not even carry their branding. Sorry it did not work out for you though.

I would still consider C&J just because it gets tough to get nice shoes once you get to that size range. C&J can make just about every style in that size, so they probably would be the best bang for your buck in nice British shoes, without jumping up to the high end like EG, GG, and Lobb.

C&J Prince Albert "King of Hearts" slippers, US 10, was $475, now $76!

EDIT: My mistake, they are $189. I thought they were an additional 60% off, like everything in the Clearance section right now.

Got me some Handgrades (Millbank) in the Brussels-store sale! :) First pair of Handgrades so I'm curious to expierence the difference with the mainline.

PS: I also had a question. Does it ever happen that C&J make a specific style in more than one last. For example, would they make the Coniston in the 325-last for 20 years and than make the Coniston in another last for the future? Or would they always change the name of the style in that case. (Off course, I'm talking RTW-only here, not MTO).

Same quality level has been my impression.

i figured it would because you would think that a brand having them ordered would have a QC team to check them out before the sales so they can up the charge for them over the actual factory brand.
