Hello,

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced problems with the Crockett and Jones Mail order system. I have emailed the UK branch three times over the last weeks. I would like to order something from their collection. I never received a response...

Best regards

Guys,

Does anybody know what last are on these boots from Purdey http://www.purdey.com/clothing-accessories/mens-rough-out-nubuck-boot-dainite-sole-boot24.aspx

I asked Purdey about this but they did not seem to know.

It's been discussed several months ago as I was interested too. These are on CJ 325 last. Purdey won't disclose anything. They just claim they are made in Northampton.

Many thanks, the boot in question has 9 eyelets while regular 325 last has only 8 so I was wondering is this 325 or 365 last?

It could be it's the variation made for Purdey. For example Frans Boone version of Coniston doesn't have the speed hooks ..

Also, the pair in your link can easily qualify for Reject or Seconds. They got a broken stitch just above the heel area. I wouldn't purchase them. :marchal:

The toe profile from the side speak for 325 or 335, surely not 365

PSA: Barney's sale! Lots of C&Js included:

Just picked up a pair of Maltons for $359.

EDIT: Not sure why link wasn't working so I deleted it. I'm sure you all know how to find 'em anyway.

I have had issues in the past with mailing them, just give the store a call and let them know what's up. They can help you with your purchase over the phone as well...

Thanks for the heads up. And as an fyi, they'll go as low as $250 in some cases. I picked up a pair of Lingfields at that price.

I have contacted them both in UK and France, and they always answer promptly, next day or same day, for product info and after the purchase.

Altough this puts me into thoughts as I wanted to purchase a pair of C&J boots.

Can anyone confirm with me the Barney's sizing system for C&Js? They do note "11US/10UK".  I would be a 10UK confirmed in the 348 purchased from the UK.  But I had heard that they are a half size large still.

I have noticed that C&J do not use the tan colour very much in their shoes. Is there a particular reason for this?

Would they finish a pair in tan if one asked? I would love a pair of Skye in tan.

The other question was: would C&J make a pair of boots with lace holes all the way up rather than having those horrible metal "claws" on the upper half which make a mess of the trousers.
