My Tetburys came today, the 9 fits well everywhere except for the toe which is nearly two inches too long. Would the 8.5 be any better?

Edit:the top of my foot is also at the very top of the boot on the 9, so any smaller might not be able to work with my arch.

Edit2: Never mind, I think that the 348 last just isn't for me frown.gif curse my wide foot. Might keep an eye on the Coniston to see if they come back in a size 9 US.

I'm so glad I got them instead of the tetburys. Just wondering though, what color belt are you wearing with those? I don't know if I should go with a dark brown belt or a lighter chestnut/walnut colored belt.

Anything close to the edge color is good for me...so medium to lighter brown, but I'm not too picky on belts.

So for your experience D widht it's essentially Uk D? like Edward Green sizing

I think C&J posted here saying the Ralph Lauren shoes were one down but that doesn't really apply to all US retailer shoes. Ben Silver listed US E width on a bunch of their sale shoes so I wonder if the were UK E or F. But it's a crapshoot as I've definitely got C&Js from Barneys that were UK E width before too so not sure how that works. Maybe @zippyh or someone with an incredible collection can chime in?

And D width would be like EG 10/ 10.5 D (and E would be EG 10 / 10.5 E).

I've only got one pair of UK purchased C&J. They're stamped 9 1/2 over 5 and printed 9 1/2 E.

I've got about 10 pairs of C&J from Barney's.
For the most part they're stamped the same size (10 1/2 over 4) as printed (10 1/2 D).
A couple pairs were stamped 10 over 4 and printed 10 1/2D and one pair didn't have anything stamped.

I checked a pair of BBBF boots and there was no stamp.

I received my Barneys Tetburys today in size 9D. I only had a chance for a quick try on and visual comparison with a couple of other chukka boots so far. I think they fit a little bit roomy, but feels like they should work (feels a little bit like my size 8.5D Indy boots) . I had some thin dress socks on and I think they would be close to perfect with some thicker socks. Placed next to a pair of Alfred Sargent chukka boots (Radwell, UK8F) and a pair of G&G for Ralph Lauren George boots (possibly UK8.5D), the Tetbury visually looks longer. However, the heel to ball distance appears to be the same, so I think the fit is OK for my foot.

I will need to deliberate some more on whether to keep them or not, as I'm not sure if it's too long in terms of appearance. They did look fine to me during the quick try on so I'm thinking that I'll probably keep them. They are certainly nice boots.

^they are super nice. But I feel like I'd be tripping over them because of their length. Maybe it's because I have a wide foot too. frown.gif

The Barney's shoe fairy arrived a day earlier than scheduled.

The suede Burnhams are a bit shop worn but not terrible. They also feel ever so slightly larger than the Tetbury although on the same 348 last. I've got a pair of suede Lowndes that fit like the Tetbury.

All are stamped 10 1/2 over 4 which is the US size.

Navy Conistons.

Tetbury

Burnham

Gorgeous, zippyh. You made out like a bandit. I got only the dark brown Tetbury's, and they are also roomy but very similar in fit to my Merton loafers. I see now what all the Tetbury hype is about, and it is legit.

Tetbury is C&J's 2nd best selling shoe behind the Lowndes....

Hell of a haul zippyh! icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

My 9.5 Tetburys were just too narrow so they went back today. If anyone was hoping for that size, they should be back in stock soon.

Thanks zippyh. I may pick up a pair, if they still have my size.

Do you guys know where I can get some dark brown conistons? If not the brown conistons, where is the cheapest place to get some tan conistons? I caught the coniston bug.
