Wow, I wish I knew this a few days ago! I would have liked to have seen what was actually stamped inside the Barneys "Two Eye Chukka" before I sent them back, a UK 9 or 9.5 for a US 10D.

Does anyone here have experience withe the Sedgemoor Suede Oxford model? I am looking for a comfortable dog walker. Something more substantive than the typical RL bucks I currently have that flex too much side to side. I also thought the Sedgemoor might have cork beds as they appear Goodyear welted. Thanks all .. Great forum!

My current C&J lineup:

Whiskey Harleck shell
Whiskey Harvard shell
Brown Harvard shell
Burgundy Ashdown shell
BB Burgundy Boot shell
RL Gianni Cigar shell

^ Dang, that's a lot of C&J horse butt.

Well, some of mine had it and some didn't. I didn't check all, but on the handgrades this stamping is covered by the liner and I didn't want to bother with re-gluing it. Didn't see a stamp on the RL Marlows, Barneys Wicklows or BBBF Conistons though and those were the ones I was most curious about since they have the US size marked. Here's a shot of my Hallams though where you can clearly see the 9/5 indicating a UK 9E.

did anyone actually get a pair of the short wingtips from the barneys sale (tretton?)? I still haven't gotten notice regarding cancellation or shipping information.

I placed a wingtip order right after another one, and Barneys actually called that day to confirm the order. After seeing it go out of stock with no shipping notice, I was a little concerned. I checked today and got "It is currently in the process of getting ready to be shipped to you".

Speaking of another order...I'll add to the blue Coniston praise (especially for about $400). With my Lindrick sizing and others saying they sized down, I was a little concerned about fit ordering my tts 10D US, but it is perfect.

I didn't get a call that day, so I guess I'm out of luck.

I think my call was more of a fraud check due to two orders basically at the same time. Without some other notice, I'd still count on them.

Thanks guys. So I'm back to square one. Can't tell if this is US or UK sizing.

If they were UK sized, would the D correspond to narrow width? (E being medium width for C&J)

I've noticed you've gotten a clear answer by now, I apologise for being rather vague! You are indeed correct that if it's a UK sizing the shoe will fit slightly more narrow than the "standard" UK E width. It gets quite confusing because D is the standard width in the US, but CTBrummie got us the solution. :)

Since I have these, I'm really conflicted about getting a pair of Shannons in Doak...

Very nice Doc those. Did you notice you got a namecheck in the "C & J what's all the fuss about thread"?

Ok, my 9.5D Tetbury's arrived. With the help of @CTBrummie's post I think I've figured out the problem, they are UK 9.5D! Here's the shot of the marking inside:

9.5/4 corresponds to a UK 9.5D right? (Sorry for the crappy cell pic, but it does say 9.5/4.) Writing on the left side states Tetbury 9.5D. They are still a touch longer than my UK9Es and definitely feel tighter through the middle of my foot, which is actually a bit wide. Did anyone else get the brown Tetburys from Barneys? Did yours fit fine, and I'm just unlucky? Or did Barneys get a batch that are UK sized?

Regular green box states 9.5D too:

I don't think these footbed markings are strictly UK sizes.  My Sedgemoors arrived today from Barneys, and they have the US size marked on the footbed, lining, and the box.  My Grasmeres, which I bought directly from C&J New York, have the UK size on all those places.

No, I didn't actually. What is this 'namecheck' you speak of? Man, I must be getting old. Is there some flag that tells me when that happens?
