Most shoes already come with rubber inserts in the heels.

these are for comfort hence the special ones. the factor is abrasiveness and the positioning.

imo, toe taps are more useful.

I'd be interested to see what your cobbler puts in as flush non-metal heel taps and how much they cost. Would you mind sharing?

How often do you have to get those replaced? To get a rubber/leather heel put on in NY is around $30/pair.

Worth a try, but no guarantees. They were very busy this morning.

well, i almost have metal ones. for the soft(er) versions there are a number of models. either ready made or rubber in various grades of abrasiveness. also teflon, which i never had. unfortunately, i only pictured the metal ones at the latest photo session. you'll get the idea.

i dunno, yet. i have quite a number of shoes. the oldest metal ones are from 1994(see first above). i expect the rubber ones to last 150 - 200 wearings. prices are rather equal.

Correction:

The Finsbury looks much nicer in person. is that 341 last? How does it fit compare to 348 last?

They are 341

How does the 341 compare to 337? Do people usually take the same size in both?
