Christ, no! Or at least my experience is the opposite. I have quite wide feet, but the 341 fits me very fine. The 363 (handgrade) fits much snugger than the 341, so next time I'll definitely size up, since sadly no handgrade models are available in F width...

Islay in the grain leather is super nice. I am sure you would be pleased

I only have one pair of C&J non-shell leather boots but they're smooth calf.  I do like their calf leather based on that one pair.  And I've heard great things about the Islay.  You should be quite happy with them.

Tried asking earlier without luck, anyone here own or have tried on the Molton Chukka? I believe they're a Barney's exclusive, but I'm trying to compare those and the Chiltern. What's a micro rubber sole?

And I may get flak for even suggesting it here... but any thoughts on the Church's Ryder III?

They are by request only from what my C&J contact tells me. The micro rubber is a thinner sole. Quite comfy.

The Ryder III, a bit clunky looking, looked at it yesterday but Church's QC prevents me from reaching for my credit card.

Look at the C&J Tetbury, less clunky than the Molton and Ryder III.

I used to have a pair in black suede. When I bought them, I intended on wearing them sort of dressed up with suits or even a tuxedo, but they were way too clunky looking in real life for that to be a successful look. Tetbury is a much better option. Here's my pair that I sold:

Anyone know what's up with C&J's New York store?  I've been trying to reach them for two days and all I get is a busy signal.

Just out of interest why would Lubbock be peculiar in this regard?

Seems to me Michael has a smashing shoe collection there, is he on his own in Lubbock?

Don't get me wrong, lots of good people in Lubbock but they would rather spend $1K on alligator boots than EG shoes. Of course, I have $1K Ostrich boots, Carmina and C&J shoes and ordered my first pair of EG shoes a couple weeks ago.

I've got some Luchesse 1883 full quill ostrich boots that I love plus several pairs of C&J amongst other English makers. It's not mutually exclusive.
