Agreed 100%

The London store has better prices and incredible customer service in comparison to the NY store.

cheers.

What size did you get? And please, post lots of photos of them when they arrive - preferably indoor & outdoor shots. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I'll be visiting the London store in June and plan to stock up, does anyone know whether they subtract the VAT at the store or fill out the paper work?

If you take the shoes with you, they will charge you the VAT and then you have to submit the paperwork at the airport.  If you elect to have them ship it to you in the US, then they will deduct the VAT.

Yes, I read that I wondered why he hadn't credited the shoes/pic as yours?

I can only assume SF own the images posted here and so Justin didn't need to seek your permission, but rather SFs?

Anyway as always a cracking pair of shoes dear fellow and superb photography.

@Crat even the official C&J twitter account responded saying they were fantastic and that is what all there shoes would look like if they charged over £700+ for them.

I would love to know how your techniques and methods.

For all you Crockett & Jones experts out there, I thought I'd give this a shot. Pardon me if this is the wrong thread for this, but I recently acquired these Ralph Lauren Penny Loafers, and I'm aware that they have historically been made by various shoemakers including Crockett & Jones.

Here's the challenge: the inside of the loafers are stamped "EST. 1967, BENCH MADE, IN...." and that's where it ends. The marking has simply faded from that point on.

Can anyone confirm if the origin of these is Crockett?

Kind regards,

Would anyone here be interested in another GMTO for whiskey Harlechs? I recently e-mailed the Jermyn Street location asking about a single MTO, and they told me they have some whiskey in stock. I followed up asking about availability for a GMTO of 6, along with the price.

Haven't heard back yet, but I thought I'd at least gauge the level of interest for this.

Connaught with hounds tooth trousers today. I haven't fully broken them in so no bull shining yet.

One question though I got gumlite stuck on for the soles but is the bottom layer of the sole stitched on or is it just the first layer of rubber and the rest is just glued on?

For those who is considering rubber soles other than dainite my verdict on these is that they are very comfortable. Probably because the heel block is entirely rubber rather than dainite where half of it is rubber as well as the fact that it is made from a rubber softer than dainite. One aspect that it does fall short of is that it does not look as elegant as leather or dainite. Although its not bad at all to my eyes.

One last thing is there any way of darkning the side of the sole like with the leather sole?
