My size, happily enough! I owned a Pickering in dark brown previously but it was too big so I sold it. Love my Conistons but prefer a higher leg on my boot so let's see how I get on with these...

All the ones I've seen have been.

Which model are those? I was looking at the Barney's website and they have the Chelsea 5, which looks a little bulky and the Lingfield, which looks pretty narrow.

Kt, Chelsea 3 on a 238 last.

I find the Chelsea 8 too rounded in the toe, Chelsea 5 not available in the UK and I think you're right about em.

Notwithstanding that it's about what you want. I like a sleek, chisel toe.

Preparing for warmer weather with a few new models

Hartland Chukka - 359 Last - Charcoal Suede (they also call it Mushroom) - Dainite Sole

Crawford - 363 Last - Dark Brown Antique Calf - Handgrade

Teign - 341 Last - Dark Brown Suede

Also, I've tried on C&J's Chelsea boots a few times and its one of the models that simply doesn't impress me. I like a long sleek elegant chelsea and I find there design to be a little more "country" styled if that makes sense. Its got a very rounded toe. I think I'd like it more if they made it on the 348 Last.

Are you talking about this one? Cause then I dont agree.

I also like the looks of the 348, (although not as much ass the 337), unfortunately the 348 fits me worst of all and all my 348's  have the worst creases of all my shoes...

which I take as proof of the poor fit :)

Anyways...love your shoes.

The Lingfield is on the 348 last:

I thought that 348 was a benchgrade only last, its equivalent on handgrade being 358? Anyone here?

No, I wrote the wrong last by accident.

Crawford is in fact the 363.

You can get the 348 in handgrade but it has to be done MTO.

Chelsea 3 = 238
Chelsea 5 = 335
Chelsea 8 = 341

Hi everyone,

I'm going to be making my first C&J purchase next week - a pair of the Islay boots.

I was hoping to glean some sizing wisdom from the forum re: the 365 last, as I am going to be importing them from England and don't want to have to ship them back if I can help it.

In general I tend to size up as a 9.5D US - I wear a 8.5UK in a Tricker's 4497 and an 8UK in a 4444. In general would probably size at 8.5UK I would guess.

Is there anything unusual about the 365 last the Islay is built on? Does 8.5UK seem reasonable?

Thanks in advance

UK 8.5 would be ideal if you wear that size in Tricker's 4497S last.

I'm looking at getting a pair of Islay's too. Any idea how the Alden Barrie last compares to the 365? I'm an US 8D. The C&J website says the Paris stores carry the Islay so I hope I can try them when I'm there at the end of month.
