Too bad they aren't a 12 or I'd snatch them up without a moment's notice...

Does anyone have any idea if the Skye boots are available anywhere? Is this something C&J NYC typically stocks? I have emailed them but not gotten a helpful response. Next step is to call but don't want to waste my time if these are generally not available...

Hello,

I have managed to get some kind of greasy stain on my shoes. Any idea on how to remove? Tried neutral shoe creme. Just blurred it a bit.

Chalk it up to patina and keep wearing them. Eventually they will have grease stains all over, and in my opinion is the best part of wearing leather, it shows the history.

You may not be able to remove it easily, if it were me I would use Acetone to remove the finish, then clean the spot with water, allow it to dry and sprinkle a small amount of baking soda on the spot to draw out the oils for 24-48 hours, followed by a heavy brushing and several layers of rejuvenator and polish. You could also try an oil finish such as neatsfoot oil and or mink oil to match the remainder of the shoe to the spot.

Or just keep wearing them and forget its there.

Thanks, I think I'll see it as patina. :)
They will look excellent in a couple of years.

C&J don't allow last changes as part of their MTO program.

You would need to order the Cottesmore 1 (341 last) as an MTO and change the sole type to dainite and leather color to dark brown.

Gonna cost you prob $500 over the retail. You're looking at a $1100-$1200 total.

You can change the last but it's normally restricted to a select few relative to the original last. Costs fifty quid extra and was something I considered with my Snowdon MTO.

Double post but C&Js rock! I will get a nice brown one shortly sometime next week!
Doodals, as said elsewhere they are comfortably better than anything else you have. Nice work man :nodding:
