Hi there,

I'm a serious newbie on here but saw this thread and decided to post.

I have a pair of nearly new C & J Boston loafers in quite a rare dark tan colour (almost a burnished look). They are a UK 10 D. Will post some pictures when I can but just wanted to gauge potential interest.

I will accept pretty low offers as I want to get rid of them and will throw in a tin of C & J polish and if you want a pair of shoebags (the bags are from a pair of lobbs but I have misplaced the Crockett ones)

PM me if your interested.

I like them, the Amershams. Good for a rainy day. Was thinking about picking them up at Barneys when they were on sale. Decided to pass, because I already have a similar pair in an oxford.

it's a fantastic material for foul weather and beating around.

I really like the look of the rough out. Saw it in the store in London last fall. Think I would prefer it on a derby to an oxford but in either case it's a great casual look.

Reminds of something a salesmen I know used to say. This guy sold industrial carpet that was bullet proof, but ugly. He would always offer the following guarantee: 'It will never be any uglier than it is the day you install it.' lol8[1].gif

I do wonder it I also might prefer it on a synthetic sole - seeing as how the upper is great for rough weather.

This is the Arran boot in rough-out that was available in the UK a year or two ago, just given an end-of-winter coat of dubbin. Great boots, and am considering a MTO veldtschoen version to make them even better for crappy weather:

The sole is actually Dainite.

EDIT: I'm wrong. Those are not Amershams. Amershams are oxfords and have a Dainite sole.

The Exmoor is a blucher. I'm wearing a pair right now.

EDIT: I see that you're talking about the shoe at the top of the page.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. You're absolutely right. I was referring to the pair at the top.
