The Rain and 348 lasts are very different. If the 348 fits you well, the Rain won't likely fit well.

Rain is similar to the 320 last, in that they accommodate high insteps. The 348 is a low instep last.

Thanks othertravel.

I don't feel a huge difference between them, but I think I'm a normal instep. The Rain last hugs my foot a bit more but in a nice way, and I suppose that means it fits better. I don't dislike the 348 fit though, but I haven't walked a mile in them. The main thing that concerns me is really the slight extra length, perhaps a quarter inch at the toe. Your brain has a map of your body and adapts to the size of your shoe (the body image). A longer shoe is something it has to get used to, which means I will be stepping gingerly when I walk up concrete steps until it learns.

So, the 320 is similar to Rain in shape? I'll have a look.

Edit: Can't seem to find a 320 last. Typo?

Hi all, does C&J have a factory store like AE's shoe bank? If so, how do I contact them to see what's in stock? (I'm based in the U.S.) Thanks!

Yes they do. It's in Northampton at the factory...

Not sure how you contact them. I think you have to go there...

It is indeed in Northampton and you need to go in person. I was there in actual fact last Friday. I can confirm that they will not send shoes out, it is 'in-person' only.

here are some pics of the Friday trip

Been trying to find the Snowdon online and surprised by lack of success. Any suggestions? Am in the US and would prefer to order from UK -- that may be only option anyway. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.

You can order at C&J via e-mail. I use Jermyn Street directly, but Mayfair or any other should also be able to help you. Be aware that postage is a bit steep at 35 pounds, but on the other hand, their service is very good.

This was a set from a fortnight ago. Forgive the blurred later ones, reason being not my size so less interested.

Thing is, go back to the most recent post to see what was on offer. You'll find each size is populated by the same shoes as they are on the same production run, shoes other than those are ones that have been hanging around.

Thanks, PCK1 and Cleav! Is the selection more limited for size UK7/US8? I'm looking for a loafer or captoe bal in a 348 last.
Edit: Also, what's the price range for these factory shoes?
