I imagine this will be a very daft question, but I wore my new Edgware the other day, walked about a mile however it started raining.

Is this wear on the soles acceptable or have I damaged them, wearing them for the first time in rain?

If you're rolling around in rain I personally would tap either plastic or flush metal. The shoes are fine. When you resole I might suggest metal flush taps

yep, normal wear there. no drama at all smile.gif

Your right shoe is wearing a ton at the tip - I'd see if you you can get metal toe taps (they can build up the toe if there's a bit much taken off already - just try B Nelson if you're in the U.S.). And it's not clear, but do make sure to have tress. Other than that, like Cleav said - no drama.

I've beater shoes (Cheaney) for the rain but sometimes it's unavoidable. This's only the C&J I've in this color but I've found that it always pick up dirt marks even when it do not see a drop of water. Previously, I applied neutral wax but it made little difference.

On another note, another clean using SR (multiple for stubborn) and it's good now.

Sure, I started with the easy stuff;

Renovateur (several times)

Saphir cream polish (brown)

Bick 4

Lexol

after nothing else worked, I moved to Renomat and then pure acetone to remove the finish.

Regarding colour loss, there was a fair amount of brown residue on the cloth but I feel this was mainly the years of coloured cream/wax application.  I knew I was going to dye them so I wasn't too concerned.  Pleased with the results.

Man, Pediwear's website has my size for the Pembroke listed as in stock. I ordered, and today they emailed me to tell me "we will be placing our next order from the factory in December and will let you know when to expect delivery."

What's the point of carrying a brand when you can't offer a better service?

Agreed. Does anyone know if I can order directly from the London store via phone? I emailed them about it and I'm currently waiting for a reply. I would imagine they would be able to process an order and send me a pair much more quickly than Pediwear.

I recently purchased the Atherstone in Mink Reverse Calf suede from Frans Boone and unfortunately the 363 last does not work for me, if anyone missed out shoot me a PM. They are a 9.5 UK, not looking to make any money on these just want to get back what I paid. Mods please delete if out of line.

Sorry to hear, but could you possibly describe the last / fit a bit closer?

It is a bit narrower compared to 337 and 325. However its not really the fit for me thats an issue, the last fits snug but workable. I am just not a fan of the elongated toe box. I am short and these are just a bit too long for my frame. Its a very elegant last, the sole is tapered nicely and has a great shape overall, but the length just doesn't work for me.

Shoot me a PM if you want to discuss further, don't want to clog the thread with the back an fourth.

Best,

I feel the 363 is similar to the 348 and has a narrow toebox, but it is more rounded and not chiseled.
