US size RL Marlow is .5 size up from UK? 9.5D US is 9E UK or 8.5E UK full size. How does Ralphie size his C&J Shell line?

Chip, this is one of those debates that has never been fully resolved. Some say half size, some say full. Based on all of the back and forth this is what I've come to accept as the best advice:

If your US Marlows fit tight, then size down only half size to UK. If your Marlows are loose then size down a full size. (If your Marlows fit perfectly, then my guess is you can probably go either way, depending if you prefer a slightly loose fit (full size) or a slightly snug fit (half size).

Just noticed C&J introduced two new loafers lasts, both for penny and tassel, 375 and 376 last
(376 Last is already used for the new Harvard 2)

They will be probably replace the Boston (314) and Cavendish 2 (325) in the C&J catalogue in the next future.

Here the Boston 2 (376) and Cavendish 3 (375) made for Frame Jp:

Good to know, thanks Alex smile.gif

I like the new tassel and Harvard looks.  The tassel loafer shape and toe is almost identical to the Edward Green Piccadilly loafers I bought last month:

Quick sizing question: anyone take half a size down on last 341 off your normal size?

I wear last 360 and 348 on UK 7.5, but on Sydney loafer last 341, I take UK 7.

I am guessing my size my on Newquay suede derby on last 341, any advice is welcome.

For what it's worth - It doesn't feel like the City Sole will have more grip.

It is marginally thinner than the Dainite, but you'd struggle to tell from a distance.

The C&J factory (where I saw them), said it was developed as some people felt the Dainite wasn't "dressy" enough.

I got a pair of "Sydney" loafers on the 341 last. Took my normal size. Really like the fit.

How are people finding the 348 last - Specifically the Alex vs the Tetbury.

The Alex fits nicely - Almost "snug" I'd say - But certainly not tight.

The Tetbury seems the same in the width, but the length seems a bit longer.

I've stuck an old insole in there which fills the boot out a bit more. Am I being too premature in this, should I leave them without an insole first?

I can't wear Oxford on 348 (too tight on toebox) but Tetbury works, not sure if it's any longer just feel more volume (so I would guess width?)
