Hi Gentlemen,

With the pound at 30 yr lows against the dollar, I used to order shoes from Pediwear exclusively. Would ppl here please recommend other online stores that are trustworthy and perhaps have better prices for C&J?

Thanks

@Cleav

It is my understanding that current CJ hand grade is essentially on par with EG is that correct?

Crockett has stepped up their game quite a bit making them closer to EG?

Please advise.

Thanks.

Hadn't really thought about it WM. The quality of both is very good imho, others will have stories etc claim and counter claim. I handle lots of both and have no issue. Comparable?

I've always thought the main difference between C&J and EG was the quality of leather used and hand antiquing applied.

Thanks Gentlemen.

I have been hearing rumblings here and there regarding Crockett really stepping up their HG line.

I am about to pull the trigger on pair of HG's.  This will be my first calfskin purchase in years if I do.

Thinking about the Beaumont in Beechwood Calf...

Tan and Chestnut antique are extremely nice and would develop amazing patina if well polished.

The main difference I can see with EG is on the finishing: welt fudging, inside lining etc, are nicer and cleaner on the EG

Simply small details, they are great for the price.

Has anyone purchased the Pembroke dark brown scotchgrain? Or thoughts on them? They are practically hidden on the website and hard to find pics online of anyone who owns a pair. They seem like a terrificly versatile shoe, casual without being too casual, dressy but not formal, great colour....any feedback? ???
