C&J Weymouth's today

Hello,

I have this question pending with Crockett and Jones but thought this forum might be able to give a more reliable opinion.

My wife gifted to me a pair of the CJ Alex from the London store while she was picking up a pair of the Edgeware at my request.  I was familiar with the last and fit as had a previous pair of Westbourne (that was chewed to death by my not so adorable dog).  When she brought the two pair home I found that the Alex fit is such that the laces form a rather wide V.  With the Edgeware, as with my now defunct Westbourne, the laces are more appropriately closed with only a slight uniform gap.

Is this an issue with he fit or width or a characteristic of the shoe?  The Alex and the Edgeware are the same Last, and its the same width (E).

Thanks in advance.

Moved your post over here so the C&J experts can help you out.  That's weird for the same last and width.

Picked up my first pair of C&Js today - Camberleys in dark brown - and I have to say I'm absurdly pleased with them.

These have now become a regular part of my rotation in a collection pre-dominated by EG

What Saphir polish works best for Crockett and Jones' chestnut color?

Thanks for the heads up. I've just ordered a pair of Tetbury's at £100 off. Something else I don't need smile.gif

I've stopped looking the higher level brand sales as the popular styles are never on sale anyway, esp. not in the common size, and I risk purchasing some seasonal crap I won't be wearing and will lose money unloading.
