Harvard Shell last 376. This is a new last, does anyone have a viewpoint on this new last vs Harvard 314 of which I have several make ups. Looks slightly wider but only at the medatarsal area, toe box looks narrow. Thanks. Clev, looking good as always my brother. Wife's been seriously ill so I don't post as much currently..

Thanks man.

I hope the good lady gets well soon. In the general scheme of it all shoes are irrelevant, health and happiness are the most important of things.

Good luck mate

I'm a 9.5 in the 358/348 last. What size would I be for the 341 last?

Whiskey Shell Skyes out in the sun this morning.

I'm just curious. My Skyes seems to not accept cream and wax that well. They Need at least 1-2 days to fully dry when I apply mentioned cream/wax, after that I can do the finishing with a Cotton Cloth. Is that common? It doesn't occur on any other shoe.

Rl tassel aren't on the 72 which is more rounded.

99% they are on the 302, same last used by N&L for their Buttefly Loafers.

Pretty sure your wrong about this.. Last 72 is on the C&J website although no longer used, it's a long narrow last. 302 is nowhere to be found.

N&L is what?

Clev's take?

Out of interest Cleav, how do you decide which shoe to wear on any given day?  Are they all easily accessible, or do you keep a small selection for regular wear with the others in storage?

I only have about 8 pairs of decent shoes but i find there tends to be 3 pairs which I wear for 90% of the time.

You are very wrong Sir...

C&J have dozen and dozen of lasts in their archive, they obviously don't use only the lasts you can see in the catalogue or website...

I know well last 72, I owned the Shipton & Heneage Wilton, made on this last, it is far different from Marlow tassel last...it's a classic rounded toe, anything -long narrow- or sleek like the marlow.

N&L is New & Lingwood, they choose to use the C&J 302 Last for their Butterly Loafers, which I handled recently, its shape reminds me instantly the marlow tassel.
I've also found pictures of a C&J Handgrade Loafers made in the same 302 last, identical to the marlow tassel, check yourself and compare.

Here some pics...tell me which between 72 or 302 is more similar to your marlow tassel....

Wilton 72 last:

N&L 302:

C&J 302:

I own only the Marlow Penny and not the Tassel, so I couldn't do a comparision side by side with the N&L, but I trust my eye...
