Anyone have this boot from BS:

http://www.bensilver.com/The-Skye-Tan-Derby-Boot,25393.html

What last is it on?

I have heard conflicting reports as to BS's sizing ... Do they list US sizes or UK? Is the "D" width BS offers a US "D' width or a UK "D" width?

I contacted C&J about US size conversions at Barneys and Ben Silver (BS) and they suggested to contact the retailer directly. I contacted BS before the holidaze and asked them if I normally size a C&J 10.5 E UK then what US size should I consider ordering from them.  They replied a size 11 D US.  Ben Silver lists US sizes.  Ben Silver US D width is equivalent to C&J UK E width (medium width).  The Skye boot is on the 335 last same as the UK version.  BS replied to my question rather quickly so maybe try to contact them with any questions you have.  I have not placed an order from BS at this point, just thought I would pass along my experience in hopes you will do the same if you decide to pursue a purchase.

Thanks for the reply.

Between posting that message and now, I indeed did contact BS, and was told information consistent with what you have said above (my UK8.5E translates into a BS 9D). NOTE: The boot in question is not in stock (in any sizes) and will not be until at least the end of February. Further, the boot has "pebble" leather only on the toe and heel. The remainder is smooth leather.

Interesting.

I concur with the above ^. I ordered 9.5 and they felt like UK 9. Returned...

Crocketts also have new shoe trees which only started coming in when I left before christmas. They replace the current 'standard tree' which covers most round toe lasts. I have to say that they are by far the best decission they have made for the sundies department. I only hope they bring out the 348 version soon too!

Unfinished, double springs and a large hole cut through the body to help with drying and weight. And for the same price (£60) as the old model!!! I'm wanting to get a pair to go with by pembrokes as they fit the 325 perfectly.

A cheeky Pembroke pic.
What?!?!

New shoe trees? Anyone else have information or pics on these?

That's great info, thanks for passing it along. For reference, I called C&J in manhattan before ordering my Islays from Barneys. They indicated that all of barneys shoes are stamped/marked in US sizes as well.

I will do, and you too!

Actually wore the Skye this week for the first time in a while and just giving them a condition and light polish as it's been a while. Pics to follow later.

Hey guys, hope you can forgive my poor English which is my 2nd language. Have actually received my 1st pair of C&J (Westbourne) but I find it a bit disappointing, especially when compared with my pair of Meermin which costs 50% less. Really would like to hear what you think - am I being too picky?

Most of the flaws appear on the soles. Not a big deal for me but I am a bit surprised by the rough seal. The right shoe is a bit off balance (not sure if the pic can show it), it shows more of the welt on the left side than the right side. There is also a small crease on the shoe. Here are some pics.

Can you send them back? If you're not satisfied you should return them. Those flaws seem unacceptable to me also.
