Precisely.  I recently scored my CJ high boots from BB for cheaper than AE and Alden.

Not to mention Ebay.  There seems to be a steady flow of C&J boots and shoes at deep discounts as well.

@razl

The price you paid for your newest acquisition is better than most other makers and their equivalents.

What's the difference between Islay and Skye? And Skye 2 for that matter. Last and sole?
post #10638 of 12825
Islay is 9 pairs of eyelets/hooks on 365 last.
Skye is 8 on 335.
The medallions are different too.

No idea what makes for a Skye 2 or for that matter a 3.

Agreed and now I'm giddy with anticipation. Haven't felt like this over a purchase in a long, long time!

@razl I read your links but I'm still somewhat confused.  Is the Purdey on the 325 last?  I took one full size down from TTS on these.

I believe so. You can see I was in/out of the discussion at various points and there doesn't seem to be a single gospel post; but my take away was that it was 325.

Those links I posted + the messages after are the best I could find, but I seem to recall there was a better point where info coalesced, I just haven't been able to find it.

Excellent choice!

Sizing might be tricky because they are usually on the 348
