Thanks for your kind words Gentlemen.

40% off and free shipping was too good to let go.

Made them cheaper than AE and Alden and everyone else for Horween Cordovan High Boot.

I wore them all day yesterday and I must say that I am very impressed.

Thanks.

Did you go true to Brannock with these boots? I tried them on in my Brannock size and they felt too big.

I have these in basically my brannock size. But I dunno I feel like boots a big big are fine. But iirc half size down was too small for me.

On the other hand I've had trouble in the Marlow Blucher line - no size fit me in those

My foot is the absolute worst to give sizing advice and/or to use as an example.

Nevertheless, since you asked:

I measure an US 11 from heel to ball.

From heel to toe tips I am US 10.

And finally, I am a solid EE almost EEE width.

I take Alden Barrie in a 10E.  Church's 173 UK 9.5G

Enzo Bonafe 946 UK 9.5G and this one I really need an H width.

AE 65 10EEE.

I told you my sizing was all over the map.

FWIW, I found the CJ for BB cordovan boots fit me perfectly in a US 11D.

I also get a great fit in CJ 325 for RL in a 10.5D.

Thanks.

Eyeing both my first boot purchase and my first C&J purchase with the Chelsea 5.  I'm a 10.5D US, does that make 9.5UK the obvious choice?  I hear some say they buy boots slightly larger for extra room in the toe area.  I'm on the narrow side of the D spectrum (narrow in the heel) so I'm hesitant to go up in boot size for fear of swimming around in them.  I also have a high instep if that helps to give context.

Appreciate any advice/experience from others.

I believe the Chelsea 5 is on the 335 last like the Skye boot. I have have the Skye and it is quite a wide fitting last so I would be hesitant to go up a size if I where you. The instep is also generous but this will differ from boot type to boot type I think.

It is on the 335, so I will go a full size down to 9.5.  One of the main reasons I am leaning towards a Chelsea is that this boot type is supposed to be more accommodating to a high instep.  I also do a lot of walking and getting in/out of shoes for work, so I am not sure if a lace-up should be my first boot purchase.

Originally I was leaning towards the Northcote, but as I have perused this thread and others it sounds as if the 348 last is not an ideal candidate for a high instep.  This is unfortunate as the Tetbury is also one of my favorite looks, but is built on the 348.  The Chelsea 5 does appear to be a bit blobby and I prefer the chiseled look of the Lingfield, but I think functionality of the waxed leather and dainite sole will win out over concerns about form in this case.

What's the typical % discount on the C&J Christmas sale?

About 20%. Limited models though.

Hi folks I am new to CJ just ordered the SWB from BB made by Peal Co.  I usually wear a 10.5D in Allen Edmonds 65, 201, 511, and 97 Last.  The 65 is a bit narrow but wears in just fine.  I am made to believe the ones on BB are made on the 240 last by CJ.  Can someone give me some insight on this last compared to what I wear.

Thanks and look forward to this thread and more CJ purchases.

None of them will fit similarly.

Try them on when you get them and if they fit they fit and if they don't then return them.

Your feet are not like anyone else's and their advice to you will be largely useless and void of any real comparable sizing information.

People asking questions about how shoes fit on the internet is extremely futile. If you are new to the last or brand and you can't try them on or the company doesn't offer returns - do not buy the shoes.
