I got those Black Fleece boots off of ebay about 3 years ago for under $300. Retail was probably around $800. Around that time there was a lot of BF stuff hitting the samples sale/gilt type places.

BBBF offered a black grain version too, back then.

They still sell them. I've seen the black and brown versions. But I'm curious as to how much they retail for in the US.

They go as low as $375US up here.

They haven't been offered by BBBF online for quite some time, but perhaps individual stores have them.

I had a pair in black grain that I ended up selling since I wasn't wearing them much.

IIRC, BB did some sort of charity thing after Hurricane Sandy where they sold them or auctioned them off for $75 or something. I just remember eBay suddenly had a ton of flippers selling them for $250 or so.

Are they consistent with C&J mainline quality?

I would have loved to get my hands on a pair of those.

I thought so. The BBBF tag sewn into the sock liner right at the heel was a little annoying, but other than that they seemed like benchgrade level.

I was trying to remember what the charity thing was for.
I remember there being a lot of them for $250 on ebay but only one brown pair in my size and they were $275.
Quality seems consistent with mainline C&J.

SF member Eddievedder sold a lot of those boots here.

Got a new pair of Skye 3 in burnished chestnut. They look really nice however, I did notice that the leather used is quite a bit thinner than the leather used in Northcote model. It feels 'cardboard-ier' if that makes sense. Also despite both models using dainite soles the Skye 3 are noticeably lighter than the Northcotes.

Navy grain Conistons.
