I've just had confirmation from Crockett and Jones mail order that the Snowdon is NOT being discontinued. Maybe they are no longer selling through outlets other than their own shops.

They also told me that they could do an MTO boot with full bellows tongue in the grain leather found on the Islay boot and are currently checking with the factory to see if there is any available zug leather...

I would also be potentially interested in this make up, so if ZUG is available, please let me know as well.

I might also be interested in this. Would need to know pricing specifics though.

Yes Walnut hurricane looks great. There is also something called Oiled Teak which I think looks great also for rugged boot.

Oiled teak is a fantastic leather but I saw it in person and it fades/lightens rapidly. Sales rep in NYC said as much. Those conistons look incredible but I wouldn't want the Snowdons in that leather. Just my feelings there.

Good to know that. Thanks for the tip.

I didn't know about the single nail detail, thanks for pointing that out.  A look at the writing inside the shoe would probably clear things up.  They don't have any in stock at my local shop though.

Edit:  a SF search showed that the Peal perforated capttoes were C&J on the 240 last, confirmed by another user.  They did not have the single nail in the middle.

True. That's a reasonable price at full retail. At 30% off it's ridiculous.

I saw these on display at Brooks Madison Ave last week and I was confused because I did not know they offered a C&J shell cordovan shoe. Guess it was not specific to that store. I wonder if the 15% kicker will apply to this on Dec 26 like the other C&J boots

I ordered the Brogues and the Alden suede boots yesterday.  The brogues appear to be on the 240 last when comparing the product pics with Peal Leather Wingtips.  Hoping they fit better than my Marlow wingtips.  Will report back when they arrive.  Taxes in, I paid $1162 CAD (~$900 USD) for both pairs.  Retail was $825 and $650 respectively.  Canadian BB pricing is much better than buying from the US site for us Canadians.

Well done - you kno where to send the non fit pair to biggrin.gif

Very interested to hear about the brogues and see pics. That is a sharp looking shoe, and given Polo/C&J's recent ridiculous hike in cordovan offerings, the possibility of getting these with BB holiday sales is salivating. It will all come down to the last for me.
