I agree. Plus the input is helpful. That's kind of bullshit. Posting different sole configurations, it's not like any of it was for sale...

Agreed! Hadn't realized those were my rugged sole options from CJI agree. Plus the input is helpful.

Cemented rubber outsole on a stitched midsole (leather, leatherboard or rubber) is a common construction
Glue these days can be stronger than the stitchingThat particular one-piece Vibram lug sole clearly is not designed to be stitched. I've had my Conistons for almost 2 years now and around 50 wears, there is zero evidence of any sole separation. A very waterproof, sturdy and comfortable sole.
Hi guys,
Hi guys,
I understand your frustration, and share it. It's a longstanding policy that protects our affioiate vendors. Posting what is on sale at a retail location, what options are avaiable, and organizing GMTOs definitely falls under the aegis of affiliate vendor privileges. We have had affiliate vendors complain about this, and with justiication.
Unfortunately, though C&J has been invited to become affiliate vendors numerous times, they have indicated unequivocally that they don't wish to participate as such. I feel that they would be great, and clearly do well, bu utimately, how they use their marketing dollars is their decision. Ideally, we would be in a different situation, but we would need to come to some sort of accommodation with C&J.
In the meantime, @Crat is welcome to post technical knowledge about C&J shoes, which is a boon to the community.
Thanks for understanding.
Cheers,
Fok.
Thanks for the questions. I someone asks a question like "how will X hold up against Y in these ways?" that is obviously a technical question and not a commercial one.Fok,
I certainely understand two out of three, as well as the desire to maintain existing business relationships. I have to side with crat on this one, often members ask for advice with different sole or leather options for example how does x hold up to elements or the comfort level of y vs z. I'm not sure I see the difference between what Crat posted and say if I post a picture of EG brown suede options as there are several similar colors. Would that fall under the policy as well? I'm not trying to poke the bear here but I guess I just don't get the options aspect of things, it is forum to discuss that very thing?
Thanks for the clarificationThanks for the questions. I someone asks a question like "how will X hold up against Y in these ways?" that is obviously a technical question and not a commercial one.
The post that was deleted (and only one post was deleted) were an update about GMTOs, at the factory.
I trust everyone to use their discretion here. If you have a question about the shoes themselves, that is generally fair game. If you ask what is in stock for MTOs, not so much.
