You don't want to send a gift payment or lose ANY protections when buying a Rolex or Pam online... Also use your credit card to fund the purchase so you have added protection. Also I would REALLY recommend only buying from within your country. I've seen far too many people get scammed, I got scammed on a watch once, luckily it was only several hundred dollars.

Are you talking about personal payment? Or are you talking about something else?

To me someone buying a Rolex wouldn't be the kind of person to worry about PayPal fees! Haha Good luck with the purchase!

Clearly, you haven't spent too much time around rich people But seriously, I bought one from Rolexforums and you're goddamn right I would have saved 4% of the purchase price of my Sub ND. I met up and bought so I didn't have to worry about it. I agree with Zack, who said that risk management is everything in this type of deal, but the fact is that if you buy from one of the very well established sellers at i.e. Rolexforums, who are mainly dealer-associated resellers with hundreds of sales, you don't have much to worry about. As always, the rule when buying Rolex online is buy the seller

When buying online you are looking for a great deal and 4% can certainly make a difference.

I agree, In this case though you would need to buy the seller and buy the owner of the paypal account. HE would own the watch completely and it would be a real pain if he decided to keep it! Would be horrible of course, but still something to consider!

Well If you really don't care about having any protection or recourse, and want to avoid fees, just do a bank wire transfer. I don't know about your bank but mine does them for me for free.

You guys all do realize that there are NO PAYPAL FEES if you pay using a BANK ACCOUNT instead of a credit card right? You DON'T have to gift it - just a standard paypal payment using your bank account.

The receiver pays a fee though, hence that's what he's trying to avoid. The seller will take less for it instead of adding on 3-4% to cover that fee.
