The "problem" is OP is expecting to see visible results after a MONTH of work. Doesn't work like that for most people.

True, I can only comment on what works for me.

I know this will sound absolutely ridiculous, but get a part-time job that requires you to be on your feet the whole time. During a time between starting school and finishing a job, circumstances forced me to move someplace where I didn't know anyone. Rather than sit around - an activity during which I usually ate out of boredom - I got a second job working in retail. As a college graduate, I was bored out of my mind. But I started to notice that being on my feet for an entire shift had me burning serious calories. I made only minimal changes to my diet and continued to get regular exercise at the gym. But the combination of not being able to snack on account of being at work and standing/moving around the sales floor had me losing serious weight. The other upside, however minor, is a little extra money coming in the door. I lost 20+ pounds in two months and dropped more than 2 inches from my waist. I'll be the first to tell you that working a menial part-time job sucks. But if you're serious about losing weight and you've followed all the other suggestions about diet and exercise, you should consider it. I've made permanent the small changes to my diet and haven't regained any of the weight I lost.

Insanity is awesome. Great workout. I'll usually do a full 60 day cycle of it every few months just to switch things up.

I started january at 185 (@ 5'10") and a month later was at 165... all I did was cut out fast food and beer. (I do not do any form of exercise). I'm with chilipalmer, its more about the little things you do and keeping yourself occupied and eating sensibly.

Average person on an average diet sees "something" between 6-12 weeks. You have to incurr enough change that it is visible even with fluctuations in weight / water weight. When I first began lifting, my build had quite changed in 3 months. In my experience, Insanity is just too many jumping jacks to be useful or safe for everyone.

not only maintain a good diet/lifestyle of eating healthy and moderately (first and foremost) but you have to implement some kind of an aerobic 20-30 min burn every day if you can.

i run/do stairmaster for 45 minutes straight the initial 8 months of my weight loss plan.

now that im doing maintenance i just upkeep with 30 minutes a day (or when i can/5 times a week) at a high level (level 12 straight for 30 mins)

im completely drenched by the end of 30 minutes.
