I always have a pair of Adidas Stan Smiths for wearing when it's raining/don't care if they get trashed etc... $65 a pair iirc, not bad for the 1-1.5 years it lasts as a beater.

don't really understand the love for generic surplus, all of their shoes look and feel as cheap as they are, which is not really something i'm looking for in a "cheap" shoe.

i have a pair of generic mans that are very nice, though.
