One of my favorites. This bottle is worth keeping.

I really wish I had taste for scotch! I have an opened bottle of Balvenie 15 yr, but I've never been able to take more than a sip!

good price

My God, keep it and offer it to your guests! You'll develop a taste for it, eventually. Nice price, especially considering what we pay up here in Canada.

Great scotch.

The problem I've run into at Astor is that they ship via UPS outside of NY. Shipped to the Midwest, that's $14 for one bottle via UPS ground.

Regardless, anything $60 or less is a good deal. I think even through the liquor distributors here, it's about $70 per bottle.

Sale is pending. Thanks everyone for making me feel guilty about my under-developed tastes! Truth be told, I went on a blind date with a Scottish girl about 2 years ago. After dinner and several margaritas, she insisted that we stop by a local dive bar for a "wee bit a whiskey." The local dive, not accustomed to serving scotch, or anything much more refined that PBR, poured us a full glass (3-4 oz at least!) each of Macallan. My date drank her scotch like it was chocolate milk. When she noticed the difficulty I was having with mine, she started calling me a "jesse" over and over again. Long story short, she finished her drink and then half of mine! I was wasted and completely emasculated! Not a good combo! Thus, my dislike for scotch!

I dunno what a "jesse" is but it sounds like it probably applied to that situation.

According to the Dictionary of Slang, a "jesse" is:

Quote:
Noun. A feeble, easily scared person, a softy. Derog.
