choosing a safe for home use

So the time has come for me to invest in a home safe, primarily for watches, documents and currencies. I don't need a tremendous amount of space - perhaps a square foot of interior dimensions. I'm searching for something more robust than what we find in hotels (e.g. can't simply walk away with it) to bolt into the floors and provide fire protection as well.

A search has yielded this: the Original Enforcer Safe 1212





Any experience with this company, or suggestions for alternatives? Would appreciate any feedback, thanks.

No experience with this particular safe but make sure the safe can withstand at least 15 minutes of fire, and if you live near a place where floods are possible get one that can also protect your valuables from water. Also there are ratings on how long sage can withstand an attack with common hand tools so keep an eye out for that also.

I've thought about a safe for watches, but I've not figured out just how heavy it has to be to really deter it from just being carried away. For now, I keep 'em all (except one daily wearer) in the bank safe deposit box.

This particular safe is rated to provide an hour of fire-resistance. I'm guessing that's probably sufficient.

I thought about the safe deposit box as well, but I'd prefer more ready access to my stuff. Also, I'm specifically looking at safes which are designed to be bolted down into the flooring; this, combined with 100lb-200lb weight, should probably be sufficient deterrent.
