Ah, thanks. I missed that part. And thanks for the links too. Those Vietnamese boots look great.

There's some good info on stuff made in the Philippines in this thread, particularly the last few pages.

His post is half economic nationalism and half racism. So let's talk about quality MIC products. WW Chan and Peter lee are good starts. Here are some more:

Also, some of the best cashmere in the world comes out of Northern China and Mongolia. These cashmeres - called long staple cashmeres - measure at least 1.4 inches in length, which make them some of the strongest in the world. Does anyone know of Chinese companies using this cashmere? Or maybe even foreign companies buying the highend cashmere from China?

Nothing to do with nationalism or racism, I simply felt that we could build a directory of great 'home grown' products from any country that wants to contribute, thus giving exposure to some fine exponents of their particular trades. This will then help preserve and promote those skills and hopefully avoid them being lost to future generations of craftsmen and women. Some great contributions so far and my thanks to those who have taken the trouble to make positive contributions. I for one have seen loads of new product that I am now looking to buy

Sad that they're all only boots and not dress shoes really

RMW are starting to make some dress shoes now, though I don't know if they're made here or not, blahman.

When I get some spare time this week, I'll have to pop into the RMW factory shop here in Adelaide and see what I can find out. I wouldn't mind seeing some of their dress shoes in person, as I'm in the market for my first pair of SF Approved dress shoes.

Which company did BB switch to for their cordovan wallets? I was thinking of getting a BB shell cordovan wallet until I saw this post.

Great that so many from SF have taken part in this so far - are my fears about manufacturing in England coming true as the input from the UK is far from great! More please.
