Sup styleforum just wondering if any of you guys could help me out with this. I recently came up (free) on a pair of evisu jeans that are a 36 waist. Problem is, im not a fat ass and dont wair a 36. I am pretty good with a sewing machine and have fixed up lots of jeans, just nothing this extreme and dont know where to start. What are the parts im going to need to cut and re-sew?

Also i dont mind if they are a little baggy, and dont look exactly like they do now. I expect them to.

Thanks a lot, much appreciated.

more or less every part. how good is this cloth? honestly you might rather go and benefit from economies of scale by buying some cheap (sub $50) jeans instead of busting your ass here. if you insist on making your own pants then why not buy some denim that you like (not as hard as you might think) and make your own patterns? That would surely give you the perfect pair of jeans. if you check out superfuture there are quite a few people on there that have done the same thing.

Taking in the waist of jeans is difficult. It can be done, but isn't for the faint of heart. Especially if you are taking them in more than a few inches.

sucks that jeans only come in 36

I'm assuming that these jeans are alot bigger than you'd like, hence: "fatass".

Taking in the waist on jeans isn't that bad if its like an inch or so, but you have two problems:

1. you are inevitably moving the back pockets closer together, and the more you take them in, the more the back pockets move closer together

2. Usually, bigger waists = bigger rises. Taking in the waist without touching the rise will give you awkward proportions. And if you do try to lower the rise commensurate with taking in the waist you're looking at a whole new set of issues - like the waistband coming too close to the front pockets.

Just sell them.

Ehh ok it looks like i might just sell them. Sounds too hard to edit them and i got them for free so i might as well make some money. Thanks for the replies
