This is why I don't understand why many fatties blame society for their problems. It only takes small and simple steps to keep the body in a balanced shape.

They want to be as instantly gratified in diet/exercise as they are with food.

They'll give a diet or exercise program a shot and when they're not at their ideal weight in two weeks, they go back to their old ways.

Laziness. I know some overweight people who claim they want to exercise "lots", but can't because "their knees can't take it". After suggestions to start cycling or swimming a little to start shedding the weight, and them acknowledging those were exercises they could perform, they proceeded to do absolutely nothing.

To be fair, if you eat by the FDA/Health Canada's guidelines and food pyramid, you're setting yourself up for failure. Depression/addiction/mental issue relating to food + misinformation + laziness and apathy towards exercise = endless fail. I'm a skinnyfat guy by nature so if I didn't love lifting and hence research all these crazy diets I'd probably be on my way to potbelly land.

edit: oh my god, locker room/shower talk. If I'm working out with my buddies, I don't mind chatting in the steam room or something, but the fucking Society of Old Naked Assholes walking about with their shit hanging out, blowdrying their fucking balls while asking me about the weather is pretty irritating. Also, gheis in locker rooms - flattering, but seriously gtfo.

fucking brahs who do 8 x 10 of quarter squats with 135 lb for 40 minutes when the place is fucking crowded? seriously? also my gahhhh lower back. i've been doing hamstring stretches and lower back stretches and ab and lower back workouts religiously and still hurts. can't sit in a chair for too long

I could write a book on things that piss me off with health. The biggest one? Nutritionists and dieticians. They give shitty advice based on outdated, shitty research but the public trusts them simply because they have degrees. Anyone that asks me about diet I point to the web and tell them to do their own research and be thorough, and to avoid nutritionists/dieticians like the plague.

i think that's pretty unfair. i have a few dietician friends and they have to go through some pretty intense training. and they definitely incorporate a lot of recent research into their curriculum. it's just that there's some bad dieticians and some good ones. kinda like trainers. some of them know what they're talking about, some of them don't

Myself this week. I didn't step foot in the gym all week due to staying up way too late dealing with bullshit almost every night and getting up way earlier than I wanted to for work. I did keep up the IF and didn't cave on the diet, so I guess that's something. Well, here's to the weekend and a new week!

Rapidly outgrowing clothing and really not having the means or desire to replace them.

When I try to bulk / cheat on pizza, the bloat is extremely irritating.

Knowing that I am in no position to "cut for Summer" in any capacity, but still greatly tempted.
