Need advice re: Round Table in a Rectangle Space

There's nothing wrong with a round table in a rectangle space. In fact, it can be a good thing to have curves instead of square liens. That table should fit just fine in the dining space by your kitchen. A 5' foot rectangle table would give you a little more space on the width of the room, but you'd lose a little space on the length. Choosing paint colors is a personal thing. It depends on the other items in your living space. It depends on whether you want a warm or cool feel. It depends on lots of things. Because the living and dining space is one area, you'll likely need one paint color for both. However, you can start a different paint color where the kitchen begins.

They make round tables. Rarely do you see round rooms. Therefore, it's just fine.

LOL...Yeah, I was waiting for that response! I should have been more clear! My dining room is more square at the moment, and suits any type of table. The new place has a very long living space, and I have a hard time visualizing the round Eames table. I'm trying to minimize my moving costs, but I also know that, if I do sell the Eames, I will have to buy s/thing new once in Chicago. I guess I should go w/ my gut, which is to sell the table!

I don't see why the table would look funny in a rectangular room. But if it'd be a pin to move it then go ahead and buy something else.

When you say sell, do you mean table + chairs or just the table?

I would either keep the set or sell the set. My recommendation, for the extra $200 shipping on the table (seems high to me), would be to move the set with you, see if you like it in the space. If not, you can always sell it in Chicago...I mean, it's not like you're moving to Wassilla....

i'd be more concerned with the color of the table/chairs being so close to the color of the floor and cabinets than the shape of the thing (which is perfectly fine, anyways)
