Season 2 remains one of my favorite seasons of television ever. Season 3 was also excellent. Since then, it's had its peaks and valleys, though Season 6 had a lot of lows. This season had been surprisingly engaging until they brought back Holly. I understand it's a necessary plotline to get Carell out of there. And even though I think it's the right way to go, the episodes since her return (aside from the Christmas episode) have either been bland or outright bad.
I'm finding the Michael-Holly dynamic grating. I know that's their way of showing how right the characters are for one another, but the writing staff did this a lot better during Holly's original run. These episodes almost feel like a parody of that.
