I like these, but what's the deal with the sole? Are they NOT for walking?

cono loco, eso zapatos estan cabron

They are called driving shoes and are made for that activity or for very casual, usually sockless, summer wear.

Aren't they just house slippers?

Don't drivers generally have nub bottoms?

Yes, and these shoes are definitely marketed by AE as slippers. I guess they figure that as long as you are just shuffling around the house you don't need any sort of gripping surface.

ed morel, yo lo que quiere e bailar un par de merengue

Those shoes don't look comfortable enough to be slippers, that's what got me.
So are they no good outside the house?

if you are quickly going out to just pick up the morning paper.

those are slippers.

I have almost the same pair, except mine are fur lined and all black. They are sold as slippers, but I have worn them out to the supermarket or around the yard, not for everyday wear, but great slippers.I have quite a few pairs of Allen Edmonds and am really impressed with the quality and comfort.

They look somewhat inelegant to my eye. But if they're comfy, I guess they make for a reasonable slipper.

Those are house shoes, not driving mocs.

those would be perfect for:

that thanksgiving or family gathering where mom and the daughter/daughter in laws are cooking in the kitchen, guys are in the family room watching the football game or playing chess, around the fireplace, nice and warm, little nieces and nephews being sweet and cute, playing the piano and just having a good ol time.

probably comfortable after they are worn in a little. maybe nice when it's too warm for lined slippers.

oops, i didnt notice the lining. i wonder if it is the typical shoe lining, if so, not perfect for inside.
